Bagshot Royals vs Yateley
By James Balcombe
Royal's show resilience to win close game
There's a pattern here - 4 games and we have yet to win the toss! Yateley decided to bat first against Bagshot.
This week we had a young and slightly experienced team bolstered with Doyley's first appearance for the Royals.
Bowling wise - as in previous weeks we continue to see a week on week improvement in our bowling display. This was backed up with some good catches by Mr. Doyle - and a run out caught on video. Generally our fielding was very good - restricting Yateley to a sub-par score. All our bowlers did well, especially Adit with 3 wickets and a very confident and consistent display by Keith. In the end Yateley got to 99 runs off their 12 overs. With 41 runs being wides - there is obviously still some improvement for us, especially down leg side.
In reply - key contributions were made by Matt and Doyley seeing them retiring after 25 runs each. Although we were slightly slow - the introduction of Adit set us up to get over the finishing line before being unselfishly run-out trying to seal the win.
Credit to all 6 players this week - great all round effort by them, growing in confidence and the 17 point win was an added bonus.
