Funeral Arrangements in News Article

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our Honorary Past President, Eddie Dowding, aged 95.

Eddie, once told me he first came down to the Club, aged 12, with his father who worked at Bagshot Park for the Duke of Connaught (Queen Victoria's son). 83 years later his presence will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of spending many hours in Eddie's company over the past 20 years and his deep love for Bagshot Cricket Club was always evident. Only last season, he was still insistent on organising his match, at the BCC, between the local churches of Bagshot and Lightwater - a match he played in into his 80s !

It is a shame he never got to see the current transformation of the pavilion or join in our 150th Anniversary this season - a history he contributed so much to. More than anyone.

On and off the field - a true BCC legend.

What an innings!

His funeral service will take place at St Anne's Church, Bagshot on Tuesday, 14th March at 2pm and afterwards at The Half Moon pub, Windlesham.

His family welcome us all to attend.

Please join the rest of the Bagshot community in saying farewell to Eddie and giving him the send off he deserves.
