Baggies Epic Win
By Trevor Butler
They think it's all over - it is now...
On another scorching hot day, 8 brave Bagshot players took on the mighty (well dressed..Great Outfits) Chobham.
Our 8 player team lost the toss and were asked to field, a bowling order was selected and away we went. Morale was high and the team were in high spirits and rightly so. In the first over a wicket was taken, with more to follow in the second over. Bagshot were on fire!!
As the middle order Chobham batsmen started to emerge the wicket count slowed and covering the field was a tough ask. Chobham became much better as finding the gaps, and with a lightening fast outfield the runs started to mount up.
At the end of the innings Chobham were 132 for 5. Great bowling by Bagshot under the conditions, Excellent wicket keeping by Jack McKinnon, wickets taken by Lucas Rowe, Jake Edwards (2), Alex McKinnon and Lewis Hannon.
After some a brief rest bite in the shade, some more sunscreen and a batting order set it was time to begin the chase.
Our batsmen looked strong from start hitting the balls in all directions, some great 4's, amazing singles and good calling round.
The wickets started to go as you would imagine, again the middle held strong and kept the runs ticking over.
The final over was ready Baggies need 16 to win, with immense courage and great talent our players rose to challenge scoring 18 off of the final 6 balls.
BAGSHOT WIN in amazing fashion.
A superb innings, two players retired over 30 Jack McKinnon and Jonathan Butler. Lewis Hannon coming in to bat with the last 3 balls to face and hitting a 2 and 2 fours. Certainly a fantastic match to watch, congratulations to all the players.
Bring on the drinks.
