Bagshot 260-9 off 48 overs beat Kew 2s 150 all out off 42.3 overs.

We entertained Kew 2s in our first home fixture of the season, and once again lost the toss and were asked to bat on a sunny but chilly afternoon at the home of cricket.

Chris went early to an lbw and not long after Andrew Doyle on debut hoovered one to mid wicket, JG was joined by Willow who started the counter attack. Partnership of 44 was broken when Willow was bowled in strange circumstances, the ball feathering the off stump but the leg stump bail came down!! Mikey joined JG and they added 72 before Mikey was caught to a fantastic diving catch, which bought the attacking Rummage to the crease a bag of nerves as this was his first innings in front of his girlfriend. Bringing Susie to the game was obviously an inspired move as he made a rapid 59, including 5 sixes in a partnership with JG of 118, at which time JG had scored his second hundred for the First team, finishing not out 122 off of 121 balls, a fantastic knock with 16 fours.
We declared on 260-9 from 48 overs.

We resumed after tea, the captain and Will opening the bowling, sadly Will broke down after 1.3 overs, which left a large hole in the bowling line up. Rummage replaced Will and took two wickets in his 6 overs, I bagged the two openers and after Adam and I took a further wicket each the visitors were tottering at 66-6, with over 35 overs to bat.
Goulding and McMillan steadied the ship, in a partnership of 52 which lasted almost 20 overs, before I did something no other captain has ever done and threw the ball to Willow. In a moment of madness/inspiration, Willow broke the partnership first ball, trapping McMillan lbw, I claimed two more to claim my first 5 for of 2016, before Adam finished the innings clean bowling no 11.

Some outstanding fielding from us today too, especially the catches from Willow and JG, these make such a difference at this level.

A great team performance, special mentions to Rummage and Willow but MOM is JG for a magnificent 122 not out.

We are at home next again weekend, hosting Ruislip, now up to fourth in the table & heading in the right direction.
