Well it had to happen at some stage, we suffered our first defeat of the league season at the hands of Gerrards Cross 2s.
Toss won, we started very well, Mikey and Andrew adding 81 for the first wicket, before a series of poor shots let us down and we stumbled to 161 all out in 40 overs, Mikey top scoring with 42, rock star J Keogh taking 7-37 for the visitors.
In reply we bowled well at the start, keeping things tight but could not get the breakthrough, Gerrards Cross openers matching ours with a stand of 81 before the first wicket fell. The visitors steadily made their way to the target before a mini collapse saw Roomey get three wickets in 4 overs at the end, hindsight saying he should have been on earlier!!
Gerrards wrapped up a well deserved win in the 44th of 60 overs, lessons need to be learned following the defeat, only three players turned up on time, and they all arrived in one car.
Next two games away, 22 points out of a possible 75 is not promotion material, we need to get rolling again over the coming weeks.
MOM Mikey Davis, stunning catch and his best innings of season by far.
