Bagshot back to winning ways: BCC 201-4 dec, Wooburn 173 all out.

First visit to Wooburn Narkovians in a long while, forecast didn't look great, but we arrived in time to see Jem playing groundsman even though we were away!!

Covers off the wicket looked very green and slow, so in typical fashion I lost the toss and we were asked to bat.
Jack and Geordie opened, and we were stood behind the keeper when he played the worst shot of the season which left us all in hysterics. 16-1. Chris joined Jack and they steadily settled the ship, Chris eventually falling for 66 with the score 154-2. Willo and Mikey quickly followed, which left Jem to join Jack who was nearing his hundred. Then it rained and rained, we were 183-4 at this stage and we were debating whether or not to declare with Jack on 95 not out. Fortunately we were back out in time for us to get to 200 and Jack to his ton before we lost any overs, and so for the second time this season Jack finished unbeaten this time 102*. We declared on 201-4 off 45 overs, knowing we had to take wickets and keep the opposition interested in winning as they were bottom and needed the points.

Finest away tea of the season, we took the old ball with Jonny and Adam opening up, we claimed 3 early wickets, but the opener dug in and was ably supported by the number 5, they carried the hosts from 22-3 up to 119. We took the new ball after trying Brad and Jem spin, and Adam and I looked dangerous on the skiddy damp wicket.
I finally made the breakthrough claiming both the opener and the number 5 in the same over. Good catch from Mikey and an LBW got us right back in it. I finally bowled a good spell for the season, but again the hosts looked to dig in. Again we went off for rain, Chris was so confident we wouldn't go out again he had a shower. Fortunately we did go back out!! 11 overs were left with 5 wickets standing, it was time to gamble.
The introduction of the barely used Willo leg spin saw an immediate breakthrough, a beauty to clean bowl no6, he then claimed another stumped, Jonny was on at the other end and he claimed a wicket too, then Jack threw the stumps down from the boundary for a run out which left us 1 wicket away with 7 overs remaining. Their skipper was no 11, and he played a few shots before Jack caught him on the boundary with 3 overs remaining. A fantastic win against the odds, other results went our way and we go back to the top of the league again. Two games left, two wins guarantees us the title.

MOM Pretty easy really, Jack scoring a fantastic hundred, plus the run out and decisive catch.
