Bagshot 194 all out lost to North Maidenhead 198-4 by 6 wickets
The team travelled to North Maidenhead on Saturday without me, as i was at the U2 concert at Twickenham early evening. It gave me the opportunity to watch the 2s at home and run my eye over those that could be on the fringes of the ones. A decent win again with the young players contributing to the cause, so future looks good for the club.
Adam skippered in my absence, but caught the losing toss bug and we were asked to bat. Yet another new opening pair, Dan and Geordie got us off to a steady start, 37-0 before Geordie was dismissed, Chris fell next ball, Dan and Willo soon after and we were 40-4.
Brad and Psycho steadied the ship, before Brad was out for 18, Mikey fell for one, yes that's TRU.
Harrison then joined Psycho and stuck around for a fair time, Psycho passed fifty for the first time in Bagshot colours before we lost Harrison for a patient 13, Adam came and went before Penners stayed with Psycho who sadly was run out for a fantastic 98, with couple overs to go. Jonny last out for one, Penners 7 not out in a total of 194 all out, certainly better than we expected at 91-6.
Jonny and Adam opened with the old ball, Mikey taking yet another good catch at long on, Jonny dismissing the opener.
Brad and Psycho then took the new ball, but North Maidenhead steadily went about their task, we tried all the bowlers but only managed to take four wickets, Brad impressing with 2-23 off 9 overs.
The hosts passed the target taking 47 overs, so a good performance in the field, we just fell again 30-40 runs short once again.
10 points a decent return against one of the stronger teams in the division.
MOM pretty easy this week, Psycho with one of the best innings f the season.
Next week we host Windsor, and need a good performance as we are sliding back toward the bottom 2.
