Bagshot 147 all out lost to Windsor 152-7 by 3 wickets

We hosted Windsor at Bagshot Park but the start was delayed due to rain, 4 overs were lost. In standard fashion i lost the toss, we were asked to bat. Windsor are probably the best side in the league, and are only not top due to 65 point deduction due to an admin error. Despite most of their players arriving straight from a lap dancing club, they bowled excellently at first, Hartridge the pick without much success. After the early loss of Dan with the score on 2, Geordie and Stu dug in, it was not spectacular, but circumspect, and after recent batting collapses they moved the score to 44 before Geordie was caught behind giving Hartridge his only wicket in 15 very good overs. Johnsy came and went, before Stu then fell in the spinners first over, a patient and watchful 26 off 60 balls. Mikey and Brad, both wishing they now played for Windsor, both batted well, Mikey lbw for 30, the experiment of batting myself up the order didnt go to plan before George followed me back in the hutch soon after. Adam joined brother Brad, a small partnership adding 35 before Adam holed out, then Penners came and went, with Brad last man out for a top score of 35, Jonny A again red inked. 147 not the best, but on a seaming wicket and overhead conditions favourable we were still in the game.

George and I opened the bowling with George removing the opener for 5, soon followed by two for me and two more for George, 59-5 we were potential favourites. Adam also got a run out while George was bowling his best spell for the club, whilst i was bowling my best since being captain, FIVE YEARS AGO!!
We both came off after 23 overs were gone with the score on 73-6 again in the box seat. I felt a change of bowling was required as we were both getting tired and with not lots of runs to play with didn't want to risk any expensive overs. Sadly that plan backfired as combination of Jonny, Brad, Dan and Adam could not halt the keeper and skipper who virtually got them to the target in just over 10 overs, Adam bowling the skipper with 20 needed.
A pretty good performance bowling wise, we showed we can compete in this league, we just need to bat a little better, four of the top six got good starts but failed to go on to a big score.
MOM was George, a great spell of bowling, 3-40 off 11 overs, four maidens.
Good support from Stu, Geordie, Mikey and Brad.
