Losing the toss, BCC were asked to bowl on a pitch that looked reasonable. Had we won the toss we would have bowled anyway, with a team set up to chase and a bowling attack capable of restricting a side, we always felt confident.
Maidenhead & Bray's innings started well, reaching 138-1 with two half centuries from their top three. Five brief wickets fell following good bowling from DJ and Jonny, reducing M&B to 163-6 before their number 6 arrived and smashed 44* in very quick time to finish the innings on 208-6 from the full 52 overs.
BCCs innings started positively with a solid 50 partnership between Dan and Geoff before both batsman departed within the space of 2 overs. Jem Davis and Chris Fletcher were required to rebuild the innings and did so very well, putting on close to 100 together before Fletcher was caught and bowled for 32 and Davis was bowled for a very good 66. The remaining runs were confidently but quietly knocked off in the last over with Jason Skilton batting maturely for 17*.
50 points from a possible 50 points leaves BCC top of the table again down to alphabetical order!!
