Whilst we held out hope for a forecast-beating day, the weather was always against us as we tried to make it 3 from 3 in Div 5B against 2nd placed Reading 3s.
Winning the toss, BCC elected to bowl and completed 37 overs before the consistent rain became too much. Reading had amassed 119-4 with only one batsman making a real impact on the innings. A superb opening spell from Simon Farrant had been supported well by DJ, Jonny and Deano (yes, you read correctly) and we always felt in the driving seat should the weather have allowed a return to the field.
Both captains agreed to call it a day at 6:15pm having watched it rain for a couple of hours, leaving both sides with 7 points.
A couple of completed fixtures in the division meant Royal Ascot are now top of the table by virtue of bonus points only; BCC, Reading and Royal Ascot all on 57 points.
On to Slough 4s next week who are currently sat 4th with 55 points!
