Sunday Friendly XI vs Claygate

The Baggies narrowly failed to defeat Claygate in the first game at the "home of cricket". Batting first, James and Geoff got us off to a great start, putting on 102 for the first wicket. When James perished for a positive 61, the club secretary continued on his merry way to an unbeaten century, ably assisted by Stu and Taz. The declaration came with a very healthy 240 on the board.
Matthew and Josh N opened the bowling, Josh sending the opener's leg stump cartwheeling. The introduction of Josh B worked as he caused problems for all of the Claygate batsmen, taking two wickets as the batsmen were starting to look settled.
Then came the biggest surprise as the skipper took a catch off Josh B's bowling!.
Some lusty blows followed before Stu took two very good catches as the Baggies sensed victory. Sadly we couldn't separate the last pair despite the lads best efforts.
