Sunday Friendly XI vs Badgers CC

Baggies welcomed Badgers CC on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon. Losing the toss, our visitors decided to bat first and made a steady start as most of the runs were conceded by Gabs. She finally found her range, removing the middle stump of Pitts. Jason meanwhile had bowled an accurate opening spell containing seven maidens.
Their numbers three and four, Jenkins and J Gordon put on a century partnership to put them in a seemingly strong position. Gordon then made the fatal mistake of trying to run two off a ball that went behind the stumps and was comfortably run out by Mikey's direct hit.
Jonny A then turned the game around in our favour and stalled their momentum with a hat-trick as they lost four wickets in nine balls. This included a "team hat-trick" (three in three balls spread over two overs). Stu took the catch for Jonny's hat-trick as we crowded the batsmen, the next ball flew through the slips denying Jonny four in four.
Jenkins finally fell for 83 as we stopped for tea needing 203 to win.
Mikey and Stu got us off to a flier as they piled up a 136 partnership before Mikey retired with 81. Stu soon followed suit when he had reached his fifty to let others have a go. Wickets fell as we got closer to the target, Geoff and Gabs making useful contributions before Charles hit the winning boundary with an over or so to spare.
