After three consecutive near misses, the Sunday side finally won a game.
Batting first, we piled up 243-4 off 38, including a third wicket partnership of 137 by Geoff and Taz. Geoff finished unbeaten on 101 sporting his new baggie club cap, ably assisted by Taz 63 and Mikey 36.
The Wessex Exiles batsmen targeted the shorter boundary as they reached the last twenty overs with less than 120 to get and six wickets in hand, thanks partly to their opener, Hadland with 65. A rapid partnership between their numbers 7 and 8 put them in the driving seat requiring less than thirty with plenty of overs to spare.
There was a sudden and decisive change in momentum as Mikey and Chris combined to remove the last four batsmen (assisted by catches by Taz and Ryan) in quick succession as they subsided from 212-6 to 220 all out.
Stars with the ball were Chris Floater with 3, Adit 2, (his first with this third ball in adult cricket), Mikey 2 and Mike W 2, who put in a sterling effort as his skip made him bowl twelve in a row.
