With last weeks' game at Chobham succumbing to the weather the Sunday XI travelled to Windsor Great Park for their first game of the season. As skipper Geoff was away VC Stu took the reigns for the day, winning the toss and deciding to bat on a somewhat dubious looking wicket to best get everyone a game.
Stu and Deano opened the batting and it was apparent after just a couple of overs that batting was going to be tough going on a track with lots of variable bounce (mostly no bounce!) and it was likely to be a low scoring game. Deano was unlucky to fall early chopping on off his own boot for 2. Adit contributed 12 before being bowled, with Harrison, Calvin and Justin all coming and going quickly afterwards. Stu with Ryan (13) and then Mikey steadied the ship a little before Stu was caught for a cautious but just what was required 25, to leave Mikey to bat fantastically with the tail being last man out bowled for an invaluable 51, as we finished on 137 all out from 33.2 overs.
Masquerading as a seam bowling all-rounder for the day Mikey then opened the bowling with Harrison, bowling well but without luck. Conversely at the other end Harrison was tearing through Windsor GPs' top order, doing just as asked in bowling wicket to wicket taking advantage of the variable bounce to finish with figures of 4-1-6-4. With Windsor GP sitting at 14-4 spinners Keith (on Sunday debut) and Bomber came into the attack, with Bomber soon making it 14-5. These two bowled really well with a steady flow of wickets, until Adit replaced Keith to take the final wicket with Windsor GP all out for 44 in 20.3 overs losing by 93 Runs.
MOM - too close to call between Mikey, Harrison and Keith well done to all 3!!
