Theale & Tilehurst 233-6 47 overs - Bagshot 3's 234-1

Lost the toss on a rather nice day at our new Home Ground at Valley End. Not surprisingly T&T chose to bat.

With 9 bowlers at my disposal, we started with Bagshot 3's Anderson and Broad of last week (Passfield very senior now and Sutherland)! Keeping things very tight the visitors only got to 50 or 20 overs. Mark S got the only breakthrough. Steady progress thereafter.

Si Farrant and Josh Brown all worked hard on what was looking like being a rather pleasant batting track... T&T's skipper started accelerating but Brad Passfield cleaned him out for 72.

He shortly after got another wicket with Josh Brown taking an easy catch at mid on (won't mention the one he dropped beforehand). Brad might have got a couple more wickets. The skipper nearly took a remarkable diving sharp chance "sitter" in the slips (sorry Brad).

The run rate was kept in check until newly "registered" player for T&T came in and caused havoc, carting the ball all over the ground. Ben Horne had a go, and Santosh tried as well....

The Mighty White was brought on to keep things under control... However, he felt the need to impersonate his skipper and collapse with calf trouble. "I'll finish the over skip" wide, wide collapse again... Si Farrant took up the duties and got a wicket, and Anderson (sorry, Sutherland) managed to get dangerman Sharma out skying one to the ever dependable Farrant.
T&T closed on what we thought was a competitive 233-6. (Brad and Sutherland 2 wickets apiece)
After a 'sloping' tea under the rather attractive £670 gazebo provided by our ground hosts, last weeks hero Mr B (Balcombe) and Brad Passfield opened up.
Both batted beautifully. "Don" Bradman P carressing the bad ball to all parts with Mr B just carrying on from the previous week... These two put on a flawless 64 for the first wicket, the Don having to depart for a very good 36.
Josh Brown joined Mr B in the middle and these two just battered the opposition. Josh Brown's major achievement (according to him) was to play 21 block shots..... as JB and JB2 drove us home with just over 8 overs to spare.
Mr JB - 122 not out (Mr B from last week)
Mr JB2 -54 not out (top work Josh)

Exciting stuff. Well played everyone.
MOM - Mr B (just brilliant)
Other notable moments - The Mighty White collapsing whilst bowling... (Sorry Mike).
Things to improve - catching

People mentioned rather prematurely last years 2's juggernaut. Much too soon for that. White Van at the moment, but with Mr B driving us on with cruise control at the moment, and the players all keen to start taking their HGV licences, with hard work and application................

Current league position : 2nd (room for improvement!)
