Sun 20 May 14:00 - Friendly Drawn

Run fest at Bagshot Park ends in draw

263-5 plays 249-6!!

With TVR winning the toss and electing to bat on a hot and sunny day it was all action right from the start of the innings, with all but a couple of batsmen playing very aggressively. Opener Singh put on a quick fire 32 before holing out to Deano at deep extra cover off the bowling of Skilton, the number 3 came and went before Jones batted steadily with the other opener Sarao. Sarao made his way to 50 before also picking out Deano off Bomber's bowling for a well made 68. The number 5 then fell early LBW to Deano, before Jones (67) and Bhatt (71) added extra fireworks at the end of the innings to have TVR declare on 262-5 from 45 overs. Special mention to Skilts and young James White who bowled well without luck and always seemed to be bowling at the set batsmen!

Stu and Taz opened and with men on the boundary from the 2nd over batted well, putting on a chance-less opening partnership of 121 before first Taz (61) run out exhausted and Stu (46) bowled, both fell in quick succession. This brought Adit and Rick to the crease in the modern day T20 scenario of basically needing 140 from 19.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Both played well with Adit taking his usual role as the main aggressor, Rick being bowled by D Singh for a well made 32, with Adit going on to make 57 from 36 balls before being stumped off the bowling of Jones. The lower middle order tried to push us towards the total however with a 9 men on the boundary (including 2 backstops!!) this proved extremely difficult the Baggies falling just short in a drawn game finishing with 249-6.

MOM - Close Between Adit for a swashbuckling 57, and Deano with 2 catches and 1 wicket in a metronomic 13 over spell of bowling

5 sports clubs amongst winners in the Jewson Building Better Communities competition.
