Sunday saw Viscount CC once again visit Bagshot Park. Winning to toss they elected to bat, with Harrison and DJ opening the bowling. DJ removed the number 2 early for 0 caught at mid off by Adit. Number 3 Clarke then strolled out and complemented the other opener Hedney well playing some lusty blows while his partner was more watchful. Chris Floater came on the bowl but could not find a break through before the change to Harris saw Clarke bowled for 61 with just his third ball! This brought Sobers to the crease (yes grandson of Sir Garfield!) however his eventful 3 ball inning was brought to end when he chopped on for 0 off the bowling of Ben White, who also then went on to bowl opener Hedney for 28. Number 5 Anderson played well for 66 accompanied by the others in the middle order before being caught by Harrison off the bowling of Adit. Viscount finished on a solid but what we thought chase-able 211-6 from 40 overs.
Brad and Stu opened against what probably will turn out to be the best bowling attack from start to finish we will face on a Sunday all summer, bowling with good pace, swing and the keeper Sobers up to the stumps at all times. Stu fell early bowled by Lawton before Brad and Adit both batted really well, before Brad was sharply stumped down the leg side for a well made 47. Adit passed 50 before holing out to deep mid-wicket for a good 61 in his usual rapid time. With Taz succumbing to a run out it was left to JG (57*) and Harrison (26*) to see us home with 5 overs to spare - the penultimate bizarrely seeing 3 drops in 1 over!!
MOM - Adit for a well made 61 and also 1 wicket with the ball
